A mother needs to schedule a dental filling. Her son needs his wisdom teeth removed, and her daughter is ready to start orthodontic treatment.
Depending on where she lives, she might need to make trips to a general dentist, an oral surgeon, and an orthodontist. It would be nice if she could find a single dentist office that could cover all of these services in a single location.
If she lived in or near Williamsburg, VA, she could make appointments for every member of her family at Historic Triangle Dental Care.
We are a comprehensive dental practice.
Dental Care Made Simple
What is comprehensive dental care? Think of it as a one-stop shop for your family’s dental needs.
We know that our patients have a lot on their plates in their day-to-day lives. We also want to know that your oral health is taken care of from top to bottom.
We may not be able to simplify every issue you have to deal with between being a parent, a spouse, and an employee, but we can help with family dentistry.
The foundation of everything do are the routine cleanings and examinations we recommend for every patient a couple times each year.
During each visit, you can expect a few things. First, we will treat your family as if they were part of our own families. In our view, every patient deserves the best service we can provide.
We will examine your mouth for any changes or abnormalities. We check for changes in the alignment of your teeth. We watch for signs of tooth decay and gum disease, and we even screen for oral cancer.
Not matter what the problem may be, we know early detection leads to more effective treatment.
Each member of your family also will receive a complete cleaning. We will remove plaque and tartar, and we will give your teeth a thorough polish before sending you on your way.
Services That Meet Your Family’s Changing Needs
Let’s consider our family from our introduction again.
In our example, we have a teenage daughter in need of orthodontic care and a son who is ready to have his wisdom teeth removed.
If your family has been regular patients, we may have already talked to you about Invisalign as her permanent teeth erupted. We will have a good idea already of what will need to be done. We will gladly help you prepare for what to expect during this treatment.
As far as the son is concerned, we often can perform the extraction in our office. With our sedation dentistry, you can rest assured that he won’t feel anything during the procedure.
While we are at it, we may as well bring up the mother’s cavity as well. We know this can be embarrassing to some patients, but more than 90 percent of American adults have had at least one cavity during their lives.
One of the advantages of having your tooth decay treated in our office is we offer tooth-colored fillings. We can fill her tooth and seal it to reduce the risk of a new infection.
And since we use a composite resin, the tooth will continue to look natural to anyone who sees her smile.
We can’t list every service that we offer in this post, but we can say that we offer cosmetic and restorative dentistry in addition to our preventive care.
We have learned that every aspect of dentistry is important for different reasons to different patients.
Cosmetic care is a great example of this. For people who don’t like their smiles — whatever the reason — we are glad to be able to provide services that help them feel more confident about their smiles, and in many instances about themselves.
Restorative dentistry is equally valuable. Accidents happen and people make mistakes. That doesn’t mean you just have to accept damaged and missing teeth.
Instead, you can fix your chipped tooth with a dental crown or replace your missing teeth with a dental bridge or dentures. We also offer dental implants to make those bridges and dentures stronger and more secure.
