We care about the health of our patients’ teeth as well as the appearance of their smiles. It’s why we offer Invisalign® as part of our comprehensive dentistry at Historic Triangle Dental Care.
Invisalign may be considered a short-term orthodontic solution, but its long-term benefits can last a lifetime. When you have straight teeth, it makes you feel more confident in your smile.
And when you are more confident about your smile, you are more likely to share it with the people you love and care about.
Our dentist, Dr. Whyte, and the rest of our staff wants to see all our patients in and around Williamsburg, VA, smiling whenever you come to visit us. We have seen that Invisalign can make that more likely.

The Benefits Of A Great Smile
How you do you feel when someone genuinely smiles at you? It helps you feel welcome. It helps you feel accepted, and it can lift your spirits as well.
Your smile can have that same effect on others, but only if you are willing to share your smile.
How would you describe a great smile? Or rather, how do you envision a great smile? Many people think of the “Hollywood smile” that is shared by many celebrities. Their teeth are straight, evenly spaced, and bright white in color.
Invisalign can certainly help with the spacing, and we offer professional teeth whitening to remove deep stains from your teeth. The first step in creating your own picture-worthy smile is getting your teeth in line, however.
That starts with an appointment with our Dr. Whyte.
At the end of your treatment, you could have the kind of smile you have seen on the big screen and in magazines. The difference is that you could be seeing that smile in the mirror every morning.
The Advantages Of Invisalign
Earlier we referred to Invisalign as a short-term orthodontic treatment. Invisalign can provide the same kinds of results as braces for many patients.
The difference is that you can finish your treatment in less time and without the hassles that come with wearing braces.
What do we mean? Let’s compare Invisalign and braces side-by-side.
▶︎ With braces, your treatment begins when brackets are bonded to your teeth and a wire is run through them. You will not be able to remove your braces until your treatment is complete.
At Historic Triangle Dental Care, you will place a plastic aligner (similar to a small mouthguard) over your teeth. You will need to wear an aligner for 22 hours per day, but you can remove it during meals and for your oral hygiene routine.
Our Invisalign patients are able to eat the foods that they want to eat, and they don’t need special tools to brush or floss their teeth.
▶︎ With braces, you will return to your orthodontic care provider every few weeks for adjustments, and each time, you will feel those adjustments in your mouth.
With Invisalign, you wear an aligner for a few weeks at a time, then you swap it out for the next aligners in the series. You will feel a gentle push on your teeth, but that is your way of knowing that the aligners are keeping your teeth moving in the right directions.
You will need to check in with Dr. Whyte from time to time to make sure the treatment is working, but not as often as you would with braces.
▶︎ With braces, your treatment can last two years or more. That’s pretty typical.
With Invisalign, the average patient is finished in about 12 months. This may vary by a few months, either way, depending on the severity of your alignment issues. Nevertheless, Invisalign treatment takes about half the time of a typical treatment with braces.
▶︎ With braces, you aren’t going to hide the fact that you have brackets and wires on your teeth. You can get ceramic braces, but those are someone less noticeable than metal braces.
If you come to Historic Triangle Dental Care, you can get the clear aligners that are used with Invisalign. That’s clear as in transparent, as in practically invisible when they are placed over your teeth.
Some people don’t mind wearing braces, but for a working adult or a shy teenager, the benefit of a discreet orthodontic treatment is hard to quantify.
